Hunger
for a Better Tomorrow
Gilded
images, substantial, full;
woven into the pulp;
intricate nuances later
giving rise to the
epiphany – the vision of hope,
twisted history,
monumental consequences
arising from miniscule actions
playing at warp speed,
thoughtless
gestures made meaningful with time.
Hunger
gnaws in my belly,
insatiable thirst to translate the
multitude of languages,
letters, emotions
comprising their lives.
Thunderous screaming rebounds
amongst
the clutter –
‘Hurry, hurry’ –
relentless in their prodding.
Waves
of energy radiating off those
charged to catalyze our future existence,
contracts
made, battles fought –
some won and others lost –
but always
along the web,
the chosen path to salvation
though many died for the cause
because they
hungered
for
a
better
tomorrow.
