The Literary Renaissance Mission Statement

The Literary Renaissance is a culturally diverse, non-profit organization based in Louisville, Kentucky supporting a global arts community.

Our goal is to create a discourse, to give a voice, an equal voice, to those who haven't been heard, all voices, all people without excluding anyone.

Our mission is inclusive: to create a place, a temporary autonomous zone in books, posters, chapbooks, on film/screen, on audio recordings, out loud onstage at readings, concerts, events, festivals, INSOMNIACATHONs, galleries, in nature, always open to the new without excluding the old, where the creative imagination is the vital source and all people stand on and share common ground, a place where known and unknown walk hand in hand.

The members of The Literary Renaissance are non-violent warriors working for peace and justice, devoted to helping those who can't help themselves, laboring to resurrect the heart.

- The Literary Renaissance Credo -

to introduce
to those that haven't been heard
into life's discourse

to give
a voice
an equal allinclusive voice
to every one

to create
a place where
the creative imagination
is the vital source
allinclusive
all people
share common ground
the known and unknown
walk hand in hand

to awaken
the bearers
of the collective humanity
to strengthen
their caring and shaping
of the common unconscious life of the species

to entice
people
regardless of vocation or lifestyle
allinclusive into
the creative imagination
the dreams and visions
the alternative paths
through the doorway
from the mundane and death
into inspiration
to life
