James Robert Walck

Ancient view of The Junction of Pearl and Chatham Streets - Chatham Square and Bowery - Litho by Saroy, Major & Knapp - 1861 -

Five Points

From The Pier of Tears my people came

To Mulberry, Anthony, Cross, Orange, Little Water

5 ways from Hell to a Heaven re-perspected
(That's what a Black 47 will do for you)

And from these Points my people came

To the Kitchen, to The Heights,
When I made face in 56'

First to Mind to Heart
The end of Camelot, the Beat... les,
The Black Out
The Turn On

And in my fold many did their day, In this town, for this town

Turned Out

In Blue on Blue

Turned Out

In Blue and Red

Turned out

In Black and White

Every day's a gift, that's why they call it the present

In this Ci-town-Nee

Everything to gain and so much to lose

I found in my first Mind and Heart

And here and to that
I found a grace that I take
everywhere I go

6th Ward Insensibility
A World of a World
wrapped up in one's neigh-bor-hood

on an island

to a point

in this pursuit

of sharing . . . caring . . .

To wonder what if

and what could be

should be

Can Be

Only in New York City!
