PTSD
PTSD
Put
This Shit Down
Put it down on paper
Read it aloud
Let it see the light
of day
Show those that weren't there
What was there
What is there
The
truth is horrible
But never as malevolent as lies and secrets
Lies and Secrets
started this shit in the first place
PTSD
Put
This Shit Down
Put it dowm,
So that it's there
Somewhere tangible
In
lines
On paper
In a little book
Up on a shelf
So that it's not just
loitering in my mind-
Like a gunship
Banking slowly to the left...
PTSD
Put
This Shit Down
Put this shit down, Doctor-
I've killed because I was just
too tired to care
Too scared to scream
Too numb for morality or reality
to matter much
Put
this shit down...
And tell me, if my sentence..
This life..
Fits my crime
And
talk to me of peace
If that's what's on your mind
And you can put things
down that you've never experienced...
I'll allow that-
Because I do understand
The
need we all have to
Put
This Shit Down

The
statistics are staggering. PTSD and it's associated disorders of depression and
substance abuse will affect OVER 50% of our returning Service Men and Woman. Add
this to those suffering (mostly in silence) with PTSD from past conflicts . .
. the ramifications are gravely profound.
